Physical security operations center · Santa Monica, California

Pay range

$32.00 – $35.50 per hour

M1 Global — part of the Specialized family of brands

About M1 Global

Since 1994, M1 Global has grown from a local security provider to the trusted security partner of Fortune 500 companies worldwide. We build security programs for complex enterprise environments — from loading docks to data centers, headquarters to event venues — powered by Aurix™, our proprietary automation platform that pairs skilled specialists with proven processes for industry-leading prevention, detection and reporting. Wherever and however our clients operate, we integrate.

Protecting the companies that power the world.

The Role

You own the badge lifecycle and the access request queue as a dedicated function. In most operations this work gets squeezed between alarms. Here it does not — it is the seat.

Requests arrive through a tracked queue. You validate the authorization behind every one, turn them around inside published targets, and reconcile the access record monthly so what the system believes and what the organization intends stay the same thing.

This is a day post, eight hours a day, five days a week. Urgent and after-hours actions are handled by the console, so the queue is yours to run rather than to defend.

Key Responsibilities
Badge Lifecycle
  • Issue, modify, suspend and deactivate badges across the client's portfolio.
  • Act on lost, stolen and terminated-employee badges inside published deactivation targets. This is the item where speed matters most.
  • Maintain accurate cardholder records, including photographs, affiliations and expiry.
Access Request Queue
  • Work access requests through a tracked service queue to published turnaround targets.
  • Validate the approval behind every request before provisioning it. Authorization compliance is measured at one hundred percent.
  • Return incomplete or unauthorized requests with a clear explanation rather than provisioning and correcting later.
Reconciliation and Reporting
  • Complete the monthly access reconciliation and drive discrepancies to closure rather than logging them.
  • Produce access and badge reports for authorized requests from partner functions, including human resources and legal, following the documented authorization path.
  • Maintain door, reader and access level configuration records so the system reflects the current site reality.
Administration and Support
  • Support audits with a retrievable record of who was granted what, when, and on whose authority.
  • Coordinate with the console on urgent access needs outside your posted hours.
  • Contribute to procedures for access administration and keep them current.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Three or more years in access control administration or security systems administration, with demonstrable enterprise platform experience.
  • Platform: Hands-on administration of an enterprise access control platform (LenelS2 OnGuard or comparable), including cardholder, reader and access level configuration.
  • Reconciliation: Experience running access reviews and reconciliation, and closing the discrepancies they produce.
  • Authorization discipline: A demonstrated habit of validating approval before provisioning. This role does not take verbal shortcuts.
  • Queue management: Service desk or ticket queue management against turnaround targets.
  • Reporting: Ability to produce clear access and badge reports for non-technical requesters.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education preferred but not required.
  • Eligibility: Authorized to work in the United States. Able to pass background, drug and client-required security screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training: LenelS2 vendor-delivered training with a documented proficiency assessment.
  • Platforms: Experience with an enterprise ticketing platform (Jira or comparable) and with a video management system (Milestone or comparable).
  • Background: Prior corporate global security operations center or enterprise physical security systems experience.
  • Languages: Professional working proficiency in a second language.
