Job summary

University of North Texas System seeks an Access Coordinator of Communication Access to manage accommodations for students with disabilities on the Denton campus. You will coordinate ASL interpreting and CART services, collaborate with contracted agencies, and ensure timely access to programs and services.

The role involves direct student contact, conducting consultations, training on disability access, and partnering with faculty and staff to uphold inclusive practices at UNT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience.
• Master's degree preferred with experience in disability services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload of students, e.g. accommodation coordination, referral to resources, advising, and course registration.
• Review student disability documentation for service eligibility and determine reasonable accommodations.
• Assist with coordination of student accommodation services.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students on accommodation procedures.
• Maintain relationships with faculty, staff and students and respond to requests.
• Maintain knowledge of university policies and federal/state disability laws.
• Arrange sign language interpreters or CART captioning for classes, labs, and events.
