Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Access Associate Senior to improve patient access and experience across its academic medical system. The role may be hybrid after 6 months, requiring accuracy, empathy, and strong service orientation in a high-performing setting.

You will support patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance, working with clinical teams to resolve complex issues while upholding UVA Health’s excellence and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; an associate degree preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required; cross-training across specialties considered in lieu of experience.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and patient-centered service mandatory.

As an Access Associate Senior at UVA Health, you play a critical role in ensuring patients receive seamless, compassionate entry into care across a complex and high-performing academic medical system. The Access Associate Senior role may be available to be hybrid work-from-home after 6 months.

The Role

In this high-impact position, you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supporting patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance functions. Your ability to adapt quickly, maintain accuracy, and provide outstanding service will directly influence both patient experience and operational efficiency.

  • Performpatient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updateswith a high levelof accuracy

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience required. Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered in lieu of the 2 years relevant experience.

Licensure: None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: (computer and mouse use). Proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains, adequate auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.

The pay range for this role is $19.50 - $30.14 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
