Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a patient registration specialist at the Batavia Medical Campus. You will greet patients, collect demographic and financial data, verify insurance, obtain precertifications, and handle co-payments.

You will also set up new patient records and coordinate with payers and departments to ensure smooth scheduling and accurate data collection. The role is full-time, on-site with typical 40 hours/week, located in Batavia NY.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• 2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages incoming calls and provides necessary information.
• Greeting patients or representatives and giving directions as needed.
• Scheduling and prescheduling patient appointments.
• Interviewing patients or representatives to collect required data and complete registration.
• Identify services with no payment source and inform about financial assistance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary precertifications/authorizations.
• Process co-pays, deductibles and other payments; provide cost estimates.
• Review charges in WQs for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate with payers, physicians, and other departments.
• Set up new patient records via Care Connect.
• May interpret when qualified; perform other duties as assigned.
• Flexibility and travel to other locations may be required for RGMG.

Process includes but is not limited to insurance verification, obtaining precertification/authorization, co-payment collection and communicating with patient and/or their representative with regards to their financial assistance needs

• Ensures the accuracy of all data collected while meeting the regulatory requirements as outlined by the departmental policy.
• Communication with external customers such as but not limited to; payers, physician offices and other departments.
• Accurately sets up new patient record via Care Connect.
• If qualified, may be asked to interpret on occasion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• RGMG Only: Flexibility and transportation to other medical group locations or other affiliated locations required.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
