Job summary

Rochester Regional Health’s Geneseo Medical Campus in Geneseo, NY is seeking an Access Associate. The role interviews patients or representatives to collect registration data, verifies information, and handles insurance verification and precertifications.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and/or representatives to collect registration data and required signatures.
• Greeting patients and/or representatives and guiding them as needed.
• Schedule or preschedule patient appointments and manage registrations.
• Identify services without identified payment sources and coordinate financial assistance or payment plans.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain precertifications/authorizations when applicable.
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and other payments; provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Review charges for completeness and accuracy; ensure data accuracy per policy.
• Communicate with payers, physician offices, and other departments as needed.
• Set up new patient records via Care Connect; may interpret when qualified.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Access AssociateDepartment: Geneseo Medical CampusLocation: Geneseo Medical Campus - 4302 Gateway Drive, Geneseo, NY 14454Hours Per Week: 40Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 12hr shifts, weekend rotations, Urgent Care is open M-F 9am-9pm / Sa-Su 9am-8pm.SUMMARY:In a customer service-oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representative to collect required registration data, to include but is not limited to; demographic and financial data as well as obtain required signatures, communicates mandated patient information and verifies all information for accuracy. Process includes but is not limited to insurance verification, obtaining precertification/authorization, co-payment collection and communicating with patient and/or their representative with regards to their financial assistance needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information.Greeting of patients and/or their representatives and providing direction as needed.Scheduling and/or prescheduling patient appointments.Interviewing the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completing the registration process as defined by departmental policy.Identification of services where no payment source has been identified to be followed up by communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements.Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage and obtaining necessary precertifications/authorizations when applicable.Collecting/processing co-payments, deductibles and/or other types of payments. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents.
