Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM is seeking an Accelerator Water Technician to join the LANSCE Water Systems Team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing cooling water system components such as pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.

You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and technicians, plan future work, and participate in on-call duty with 24/7 coverage on a rotating schedule. A strong safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates' Degree in a related field with 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with installing/maintaining cooling water systems and related equipment.
• Ability to work in radiation areas and with potentially irradiated systems.
• Strong communication with scientists, engineers, and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair cooling water system components.
• Plan and prepare for future maintenance tasks.
• Work with team and outside groups while prioritizing safety.
• Be on-call 24 hours per day on a rotating schedule.
