Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role collaborates with engineers and technicians to develop, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot, and document complex accelerator systems and equipment.

The Technologist will translate engineering requirements into field-ready work, resolve technical issues, and ensure changes are accurately communicated and documented, within a DOE-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and procedures.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in field environments.
• Strong communication and coordination across engineering, operations, and field teams.
• Experience documenting field changes, test results, and equipment conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Scorpius systems and equipment.
• Interpret drawings and technical docs to support field execution.
• Assist with design updates, redlines, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, technicians, and project teams to communicate changes.
