Job summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Engineering Division seeks an Electronics Engineering Associate to support electrical and electronic systems for the 88-Inch Cyclotron and related facilities. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to design, test, and commission accelerator, beamline, and support systems.

Responsibilities include development and modernization of control systems, coordination of procurement, and ensuring safety through NEC and LBNL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical/electronics engineering or physics.
• Ability to execute designs and coordinate implementation of projects under supervision.
• Strong foundation in electronic circuit and system design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings and coordinate with layouts.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with scientists, engineers, and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate electronic systems for cyclotron accelerator, beamline, and facility equipment.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate RF systems, power supplies, instrumentation, and interlocks.
• Lead testing, commissioning, and turnover of systems following project practices.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide technical input to operators and technicians.
• Maintain documentation, vendor coordination, and configuration control.
