Job summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is hiring an Electronics Engineering Technologist in Berkeley, CA, to support 88-Inch Cyclotron operations. This hands‑on role covers design, build, test, and maintenance of advanced analog, digital, RF, and high‑voltage systems for research operations.

You will develop schematics and documentation, troubleshoot to component level, and collaborate with engineers on commercial, experimental, and prototype systems while ensuring safety and inclusivity in the

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of advanced electronics testing, maintenance, and development experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, electro‑mechanical systems and mathematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complex systems.
• Experience writing technical procedures and documentation.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, integrate, and maintain complex electronic systems for research operations.
• Develop schematics, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems to component level using diagnostic instrumentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
• Use lab tools for testing, calibration, and system validation.
• Collaborate with engineers to support various systems and prototypes.
• Develop test procedures and analyze system performance.
• Plan technical support activities and ensure ES&H compliance.
