Job summary

Global Power Components is launching a Training Academy in Milwaukee, WI, seeking an Academy Trainee – Electrical to build foundational electrical skills in a hands-on environment. This onsite program runs for 3 weeks of paid training followed by a role intended to convert to permanent employment.

Participants gain exposure to electrical basics, blueprint reading, wiring and controls, with supervision and safety standards, while using hand and power tools in real manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning electrical skills.
• Experience in hands-on environments (manufacturing, construction, automotive, maintenance, assembly, farming, military) preferred.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3 weeks of paid training.
• Learn electrical basics, blueprint reading, wiring and controls.
• Develop hands-on skills using hand and power tools under supervision.

Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully‑equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning electrical skills.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, automotive, maintenance, assembly, farming, military, or other hands‑on environments preferred.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
