Job summary

Centinela Valley Union High School District is seeking an Academy Coordinator at Lawndale High School to lead pathway development, student support, and partnerships for the 2026-2027 year. The position runs July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 with a compensation framework based on a percentage of the Salary Schedule A and release period provisions.

Qualifications

• Valid California teaching credential.
• Must teach at least one period or equivalent within the academy during the 2026-2027 school year.
• Trained or willing to be trained in implementing PLC model and Adaptive Schools Foundations.

Responsibilities

• Quality Curriculum and Instruction: identify aligned courses, update outlines to reflect CTE standards and CC College and Career Anchor Standards; engage advisory board for input.
• Work-Based Learning Coordination: implement WBL opportunities with PD, field trips, internships; communicate with counselors and site administration.
• Student Support: develop pathway maps, coordinate incentives and student support plans with counselors.
• System Alignment: develop and monitor budget narrative, schedule WBL field trips and academy meetings; track Linked Learning progress.
• Industry Partnerships: form advisory board, recruit partners, coordinate internship programs and field trips.
• After School/Extended Day Opportunities: advise Student Technical Organization and promote opportunities.
• Regional and Local Labor Market Demands: support provided by Pathway Connections Specialist.
• Industry Certification/Employment: develop certificate of completion and research relevant certifications.
• Skilled Faculty: plan pathway learning walks and attend pathway PD.
• Data and Evaluation: access and analyze pathway data, prepare reports including CAPAAR and budget narrative.
• Promote CTE Programs: market and outreach to feeder schools, business and post-secondary partners.
