Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one academic tutoring to teach and reteach concepts to H.E.L.P. students.
Offer assistance with developing study strategies.
Work with students to develop a plan that fits the student’s individual needs.
Assist students in developing a schedule for study sessions.
Clarify/augment student notes from lecture.
Teach concepts using multi-sensory techniques to maximize student understanding and recall.
Teach organization and time management skills.
Monitor students’ progress through communication with students and professors.
Send notification to professors regarding students with disabilities and accommodations.
Organize and facilitate testing accommodations according to students’ diagnosis.
Proctor exams under supervision.
Maintain student attendance records.
Notify students and parents regarding students’ absences from tutoring sessions.
Write End of Semester Reports for each student.
Participate in scheduled tutor training and development sessions.
