Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors in Miami, FL seeks energetic K–12 teachers or subject-matter experts to provide in-home tutoring aligned with state standards. You will support academic growth, assign supplemental work, and tailor approaches to each student.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree and meet criteria such as Florida teaching certification (or pursuing), two+ years of private/classroom experience, or university teaching experience. Flexible hours and professional development are offered.

We specialize in all subject areas and cater to kindergarten to grade 12 students. We hire only the best-certified teachers and Subject Matter Experts or those completing their degree in Education and pay higher wages than the industry average.

Job Summary

• Provide academic support to K–12 students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote a greater understanding of the material.
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students.
• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
• Provide a customized approach tailored to the individual needs of each student.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for teachers, subject matter experts (Masters Students, PhD Students, Engineers, etc.) or soon-to-be teachers who can meet the following criteria:

• Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching K–12 students.
• Strong knowledge and teaching experience across K–12 subject areas, with a preference for candidates who can teach both Math and Science.

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid Florida State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof.
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate.
• You have two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• Experience teaching or tutoring K–12 Math and/or Science is preferred.
