Job Summary

• Provide academic support to high school students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote a greater understanding of the material.
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students across a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, English, science, social studies, and other high school subjects.
• Provide SAT preparation and academic test-preparation support, including instruction in mathematics, reading, writing, and test-taking strategies.
• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
• Provide a customized approach tailored to the individual needs, academic goals, and learning styles of each student.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for teachers, subject matter experts (Masters Students, PhD Students, Engineers, etc) or soon-to-be teachers who can meet the following criteria:

• Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching or tutoring high school students.
• Strong academic background with the ability to tutor across multiple high school subject areas, including mathematics.
• Experience with SAT preparation and standardized test-taking strategies is strongly preferred.
• Committed to providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor's degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid Florida State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof.
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate.
• You have two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• You have demonstrated experience tutoring or teaching high school students in multiple subject areas, including mathematics.
• You have experience preparing students for the SAT or other standardized academic assessments.
