Job summary

Gardner High School in Gardner, MA seeks an Academic Tutor, High School Long Term Substitute to provide academic support to students in grades 8–12. The position is full-time for the school year with a focus on interventions across English, math, science and social studies.

Reporting to the Building Principal, the role requires collaborative planning with teachers and ability to oversee the classroom in the absence of the regular instructor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred but will consider Associate's Degree and relevant experience.

JOB GOAL: To provide academic support to students within the classroom setting in a high school, grades 8 through 12. This is a full-time, school year position.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works within a classroom setting with individual students or small groups of students to provide interventions and supports in English, math, science, social studies and other subject areas.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to plan and implement data informed supports and interventions.
• Oversees the classroom in the absence of the teacher.
• Performs other needed duties and responsibilities as assigned by teachers and/or the school administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per Contract.
