Job summary

UNLV's Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine in Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor Surgery-Acute Care Trauma. The Acute Care Surgeon will lead trauma, surgical critical care, burns, and emergency general surgery, with teaching and research duties at UNLV and affiliated hospitals.

Responsibilities include clinical participation on the UMC team, on-call duties, medical student and resident education, and scholarly activity in a diverse, collaborative environment, with

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited college or university (CHEA)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery
• Eligible for unrestricted Nevada medical license
• Malpractice insurance
• Credentialing by affiliated teaching hospitals (prior to start)

Responsibilities

• Teach medical students, surgical residents and fellows; participate in clinical duties on the trauma/acute care team
• Engage in surgical teaching, simulation, and research
• Contribute to program development and academic activities in a diverse environment
• Collaborate with other clinicians and participate in continuing performance improvement
• Participate in national trauma meetings and education initiatives
