Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Health in Temple, TX is seeking an academic BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to join the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. The ideal candidate will perform non-cardiac adult thoracic surgery and help grow disease-based programs in partnership with Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine.

The role supports a robotic and minimally invasive program with opportunities for teaching and an academic appointment at Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level, reflecting commitment to

Qualifications

• Residency or fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Academic setting experience preferred.
• 5+ years post-training experience preferred.
• Completed ACGME-accredited thoracic tract cardiothoracic program.
• Full spectrum of non-cardiac adult thoracic surgery (benign/malignant).
• Training in foregut/esophageal procedures (Heller myotomy, fundoplication, stenting).
• Training in interventional airway procedures (EBUS, stenting).
• Experience with minimally invasive techniques, including robotics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• passion for teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-cardiac adult thoracic surgical services for benign and malignant conditions.
• Contribute to growth and development of disease-based programs with Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine.
• Engage in academic activities and mentoring within Baylor College of Medicine.
