Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Health is seeking an outstanding BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to join the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in Temple, TX. The ideal candidate will perform non-cardiac adult thoracic surgery and help expand thoracic services with a focus on quality and innovation.

The role includes academic appointment; the team uses VATS and robotic techniques, with strong research support and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Residency or Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Experience in an academic setting is preferred.
• 5+ years of post-training experience preferred, but exceptions possible.
• Ability to provide the full spectrum of non-cardiac adult thoracic surgical services.
• Training in foregut/esophageal procedures such as Heller myotomy, fundoplication, stenting.
• Training in interventional airway procedures including EBUS and stenting.
• Added training in minimally invasive techniques including robotics is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide full spectrum non-cardiac thoracic surgical services for adults.
• Contribute to growth of disease-based programs with Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine.
• Participate in research and academic activities through Baylor College of Medicine.
• Collaborate with a team of surgeons and healthcare providers to maintain high-quality care.
