HopeTree Family Services seeks an Academic Teacher to provide social, moral, and academic opportunities for learning and to maintain a close working relationship with educational staff. The role requires communication with childcare and social work staff to ensure optimal supervision of all students.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university.
• A current special education license to teach middle/secondary levels with endorsements for working with learning disabled and at-risk students is preferred.
• Ability to work with a range of student behaviors and educational needs; represent HopeTree Family Services positively.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans for each course taught, aligned with standards.
• Maintains accurate student performance data and grades for all courses.
• Acts as educational case manager for at‑risk students and attends service plan meetings.
• Communicates with HopeTree staff on student progress and behavior as required.
• Arranges and supervises field trips and chaperones as needed.
• Participates in educational committees and required trainings for recertification.
