Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center in Bradenton, FL is seeking a certified Science Teacher (grades 6-12) to deliver science instruction within the Hospital/Homebound program. The role requires Florida Science certification or progress toward it, plus ESE eligibility or plans to obtain certification within six months.

Our treatment philosophy is based on trauma-informed care principles and offers distinct progressive phases of care.The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients.
Palm Shores is currently hiring a certified Science Teacher (grades 6-12). Certified in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire. The teacher will use their knowledge of student development to be flexible and responsive to student learning by adjusting lessons, responding to student individual needs, and persisting in providing a variety of approaches when students have difficulties.
The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. A 4:1 student to staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site.
Teachers are employees of the facility and not under a teacher contract/re-negotiation.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university.
Florida Teaching Certification Required: Science Certification required. ESE certification required or ability to meet this requirement with in allotted time.
