Job summary

Fort Mill School District is seeking a school technology assistant to provide frontline technical support for computers, tablets, printers, and classroom devices. The role focuses on helping teachers and students use a variety of productivity tools and learning apps within a networked environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-response technical support for workstations, laptops, printers, SmartBoards, iPads, Chromebooks, audio systems and peripherals.
  • Maintain files, backups, report prints, and technology inventory.
  • Complete beginning and end-of-year technology procedures.
  • Help manage mobile devices and keep them ready for student use.
  • Assist with school website and Parent Portal.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot software applications with license considerations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Assist front office personnel as needed.
  • Collaborate with technology staff to maintain network performance and security.
  • Participate in meetings to align technology with the district plan.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Job Goal

To help provide a well-organized, conducive environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program, instructional materials, and technology.

Job Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide first-response technical support, including testing and troubleshooting workstations, laptops, printers, SmartBoards, iPads, Chromebooks, audio systems and other peripherals.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Assisting front office personnel, as needed.
  • Work with other technology staff to maintain optimal network performance and security.
  • Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction to the use of technology as it relates to the district’s technology plan
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Terms of Employment

190-day contract, S5 Salary Schedule, 7 hours per day Employment: Non-Exempt position.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
