Job summary

Gilbert Unified School District seeks a Paraprofessional Technician to support mildly/moderately disabled students under a certificated teacher. You will assist with instruction, monitor progress, and implement IEP-directed plans, including health care needs.

Responsibilities include one-on-one student support, adapting activities, data recording, and collaboration with teachers and therapists to ensure a safe, productive classroom environment at a Title I campus in Mesa, AZ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree, AA degree, or 60 college credits may be required at Title I campuses.
• Evidence of passing the Para Pro Assessment Test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education students one-on-one with classroom and daily living skills.
• Adapt activities and materials under teacher direction to include all students.
• Confer with teachers/therapists to address student needs and directions.
• Support instructional activities for individuals or small groups per IEP/benchmarks.
• Implement behavioral plans and provide instructional materials as needed.
• Monitor students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Record data for the DSC program and perform clerical duties.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
