The Language Learning Center ( LLC ) has four (4) openings forAcademic Support Aides to support the Department of Languages andCulture. We welcome applications from work-study-approved studentswhose primary role is to tutor students enrolled in Spanish orAmerican Sign Language ( ASL ) classes. The LLC provides personaland professional opportunities for Academic Aides who are studyingASL or Spanish or have intermediate-level experience with one ofthese languages. Further, the LLC sponsors cultural enrichmentevents and extracurricular activities, online and face-to-face,which are open to the NMHU and Las Vegas communities.
The Academic Support Aide is responsible for offering supplementalinstruction that ranges from beginner to intermediate levels in ASLor Spanish, support bilingualism at all levels, and foster awelcoming atmosphere to all language learners who use LLC services.The Academic Aide is also responsible for maintaining effectivecommunication with the LLC director, faculty members, coworkers andlanguage learners, maintaining confidentiality and punctuality, andperforming other duties as assigned.
Education: College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six(6) credit hours. High school diploma or GED . No experienceneeded.
