Job summary

Harford Community College is seeking innovative tutors for the Academic Success Center to support students with study strategies, course content, and inclusive learning sessions. The role involves individual, group, walk-in, and in-class tutoring across diverse subjects.

Preference will be given to enrolled students; strong emphasis on collaboration, communication, and helping learners become independent. Part-time schedule includes day/evening weekend hours at the Bel Air campus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of at least six credits of college-level courses with at least a B average.
• One year of customer service experience and/or student leadership experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency of course content within one or more Harford Community College divisions: Arts & Humanities, Behavioral & Social Sciences, Business & Applied Technology, Nursing & Allied Health Professions, STEM.

Responsibilities

• Promote a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment in the Academic Success Center.
• Assist students in learning course content by referring to notes, assignments and class resources.
• Promote study skills and learning strategies; conduct outreach to advertise ASC services; attend CRLA certification trainings.
