At the College of Nursing, we champion and nurture individual student success while providing a rigorous but accessible education that prepares you for the nursing workplace, academia, and leadership as you progress throughout your career. The College of Nursing is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The Academic Success Coordinator will plan, develop, and manage the implementation and monitoring of AUCON pre-licensure student academic support. The coordinator will support high-achieving students as well as those experiencing challenges, to assist them in reaching their academic potential and degree goals. The position reports to the AUCON Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
The coordinator collaborates with the Augusta University Academic Success Center (AUASC) to ensure consistency in service to students including, but not limited to, tutor training, data collection, reporting, marketing and outreach, to prohibit duplication of services. The coordinator also collaborates with AUCON faculty and staff to integrate content and course requirements into academic enhancement programming. Responsibilities include arranging one-on-one and group tutoring and providing direct course and faculty support.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and at least 2 years of experience working with various student populations. MSc, MEd, MAT and equivalents accepted.
Demonstrated knowledge of math and/or science content area; demonstrated experience with teaching, pedagogy and pedagogical strategies; demonstrated ability in working as part of a team, establishing rapport and collaborating with a variety of organizational stakeholders; demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint or comparable software programs. Experience with BANNER and student tracking software preferred; multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with various groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 8
Salary Minimum: $45,400 annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
