Job summary

River Valley Community College seeks an academic advisor/coordinator to support prospective and current students at the Claremont campus. This on-site role requires regular travel to Keene and Lebanon centers and reports to the Director of Academic and Student Support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling/advising, education, student services/development, behavioral science, or related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as an academic advisor/counselor, student life coordinator, or related experience, preferably within a higher education setting.
  • Valid driver’s license or access to transportation to perform travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Advises students at River Valley Community College, including meeting with students regularly for long term planning, assisting with registration, reviewing degree progress, and monitoring graduation requirements.
  • Develops connections with program directors, the Admissions Department, Student Services, transfer and career opportunities, and college life.
  • Serves as lead advisor to the Student Government Association (SGA) and oversees SGA financial accounts, working with the Business Office.
  • Coordinated the College’s Student Life program and travels to RVCC's Keene and Lebanon centers as required.
