Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking an Academic Skills Center Tutor - Non-Certified for McNair Middle School. The ASC Tutor provides focused tutoring to small groups during the regular school day and collaborates with the Lead ASC Tutor and educators to support unfinished learning.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED for non-certified status, or a Bachelor's degree for certified status, and at least three years of experience working with children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university for Certified Tutor.
• High school diploma or GED for Non-Certified Tutor.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with children.
• Certified Tutor: PSC-certified in appropriate field at level T-4 or above.
• Non-Certified Tutor: None

Responsibilities

• Provides tutoring to small groups of students in the Academic Skills Center.
• Collaborates with the Lead ASC Tutor and educators to select resources and strategies.
• Helps students set goals and monitors progress toward them.
• Guides students in engaging with learning activities and supports.
• Maintains documentation and communicates progress to teachers and families.
