Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking an Academic Skills Center Tutor - Non-Certified. The ASC Tutor provides focused tutoring in various content areas and supports students during the regular school day, collaborating with the Lead ASC Tutor and educators to assist students within the district.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED for non-certified status or a Bachelor's degree plus PSC-approved certification for certified tutors, with at least three years of experience working

Qualifications

• Certified Tutor: Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university.
• Non-Certified Tutor: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with children.
• Certified Tutor: PSC-approved certificate at level T-4 or above.
• Non-Certified Tutor: None

Responsibilities

• Provides tutoring to small groups in the Academic Skills Center.
• Collaborates with Lead ASC Tutor, staff, volunteers and administrators to identify resources and strategies.
• Helps students set and monitor individual goals.
• Guides students through learning activities and supports.
• Monitors behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Models appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
• Prepares written materials and maintains progress records.
• Communicates progress with teachers and families.
• Participates in Professional Learning sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
