Job summary

Fayetteville State University’s Chesnutt Library seeks a Librarian - Reference to provide reference and outreach services to the university. The role collaborates with the Head of Public Services and library staff to design and deliver instruction, programs, and collections development.

The Reference and Outreach Librarian will work with faculty, researchers, staff, and students to create holistic learning experiences and outreach initiatives while contributing to assessment and inclusive

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• Experience in access services (Circulation) in a library.
• Experience with OCLC WMS systems.
• Relevant library and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform reference and research consultations in person, by phone, email, and small groups with the university community and academic departments.
• Provide an engaging, service-oriented experience to patrons at the public services desk.
• Maintain outreach and communications; keep faculty and students informed about new resources and library services.
• Develop programming that promotes information literacy and integrates with courses.
• Plan and develop holistic co-curricular learning experiences and outreach programs.
• Plan and develop assessment for library outreach and learning programs.
• Create library displays in coordination with outreach activities.
• Contribute to inclusive collections and services for a diverse university community.
• Participate in committees and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties; work may include evenings and weekends.
