Job summary

Sandhills Community College is seeking a Librarian for Academic and Public Engagement to support students and faculty through information literacy instruction and research help. The role includes coordinating public services tasks, updating LibGuides and scheduling, and collaborating with campus departments and community partners.

The librarian will promote critical evaluation of resources, assist with outreach efforts, and support library materials selection and access across main and satellite

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science/Library Information Science from ALA-accredited program.
• Thorough knowledge of current best practices in information literacy instruction.
• Effective communications skills; both oral and written.
• Familiarity with LibGuides and course management systems (Canvas) and Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and research support to students and faculty across disciplines.
• Coordinate daily tasks in public services, LibGuides, LibCal, and staff performance evaluation.
• Promote information literacy and critical evaluation of library resources.
• Collaborate with Marketing on social media and website content for all audiences.
• Schedule instruction sessions for faculty and courses at multiple campuses.
• Demonstrate persistent helpfulness to students, faculty, staff and community patrons.
