Job summary

Indian River State College seeks an Academic Coordinator to provide counseling and oversee academic support for Upward Bound participants. Develop programs, prepare reports, and maintain student data. Lead ETS instructors, tutors, and mentors, coordinating meetings with teachers and counselors to align with program objectives.

Responsibilities include data analysis, program evaluation, and facilitating workshops for students and families, with compliance to college policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related area.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience working for a federal grant program serving low-income and potential first-generation college-bound students.
• Experience working with students from low-income backgrounds or educational hurdles.
• Knowledge of academic advising, college and career financial aid, and economic literacy activities.
• Familiarity with EDGAR, cost principles, and federal grant administration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all aspects of assigned academic programs to ensure alignment with goals and compliance with guidelines.
• Coordinate logistics for student transportation, facility use, and equipment for events.
• Participate in regular team meetings to plan and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Collect, manage, and analyze program data using digital tools to track progress.
• Submit required documentation including monthly reports and schedules.
• Develop and facilitate college preparatory workshops for students and parents.
• Advise students on middle school, high school, and college academic pathways.
