Texas Christian University is seeking an Academic Program Specialist to support the History Department. Responsibilities include acting as the Graduate Admissions coordinator, guiding applicants, maintaining files and databases, and assisting with curricular initiatives.

The Academic Program Specialist is responsible for providingsupport to the Department of History by serving as the GraduateAdmission coordinator for the department, coordinating activities,supporting curricular initiatives, developing and maintainingpublic presence of the college using social media and other mediaoutlets, and facilitating objectives.
1. Assists with all program administration for the History GraduateProgram.
2. Acts as the point of contact for history graduate admissions byeducating graduate students about admission policies andprocedures; guiding prospective graduate students through theadmissions process, maintain application files, gatheringinformation on graduate inquiries and maintaining databases formailings and communications; facilitating financial aid awards andhuman resource documents for financial aid delivery for graduatestudents; providing secondary advising support for graduatestudents.
3. Communicates with graduate students regarding graduationdeadlines and requirements.
4. Manages public relations by greeting students in person or onthe telephone; answering or referring inquiries; providinginformation and assistance regarding program functions.
5. Assists with course scheduling for various programs.
6. Coordinates program events by scheduling appointments, makingtravel and meal arrangements, and scheduling class visits.
7. Completes special projects by creating and updating college webcontent; producing and editing publications; workingcollaboratively with college marketing specialist to ensure timelyand relevant content per college initiatives.
8. Monitors expenses by gathering and reporting budget information,facilitating and monitoring reimbursements for faculty andstudents. Communicates with faculty and students about requiredprocedures and forms.
9. Produces information by developing, transcribing, formatting,inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, filing, and transmittingtext, data, and graphics securely across multiple platforms. (e.g.MS Office, Box, Canva, Eventbrite)
10. Organizes work by reading, routing and answeringcorrespondence; collecting, maintaining and prioritizinginformation; managing program procedures and telecommunications;updating records.
11. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attendingeducational workshops; reviewing professional publications;establishing personal networks.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
