Academic Program Coordinator, CUNY Explorers Program
POSITION DETAILS
The Academic Program Coordinator, CUNY Explorers, will report to the Academic College Now Manager and will support the development, implementation, and oversight for the initiative at Hunter College. The Program Coordinator will supervise campus visit guides, in an effort to provide an educational experience for a cohort of visiting 6th-10th graders and chaperones.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Academic Program Coordinator, CUNY Explorers, will be responsible for the following duties:
In conjunction with the Central Office program team and DOE staff, arrange school visits and work with campus and University offices to provide effective interactive program activities.
Recruit and supervise CUNY students to serve as Visit Guides on CUNY campuses.
Monitor and maintain an online scheduling system that will allow schools to select a visit date and provide all relevant contact information; follow up with schools as needed to ensure a successful visit.
Implement an orientation, training, and ongoing professional and leadership development for Visit Guides.
Coordinate the program’s administrative and operational activities, including processing payroll for visit guides.
Under the supervision of the campus administrator, liaise with relevant college departments regarding program logistics (space, student meals, workshop leaders, campus security, etc.).
Collect and retain data for report outcomes to relevant college leaders.
Maintain a database of staff and school information; document and submit to Central Office summaries of visits and observations.
Participate in University-wide meetings as needed.
Support related administrative functions in the host department.
Assist with both College Now and Undergraduate Admissions initiatives related to campus tours and recruitment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual, Spanish/English preferred.
Experience evaluating performance and analyzing data/metrics preferred.
Experience working with middle school and high school students.
Ability to perform successfully in a multi-faceted, fast-paced, time-sensitive, and demanding student-focused and responsive operation serving both internal and external constituents.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and external constituents in a large centralized public university system.
Detail-oriented with strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
Computer proficiency using standard office software programs/applications.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.
Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration.
Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities.
Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students.
Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards.
Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures.
May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget.
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience, $51,781-$62,689.
