This is an exciting opportunity for a microsurgery fellowship-trained surgeon with demonstrated expertise in free-flap reconstruction to join an established academic plastic surgery division. The ideal candidate will bring broad reconstructive expertise, with particular interest and experience in microsurgical reconstruction. Breast reconstruction is an important component of the division's practice, with a large and growing breast reconstructive volume, while the overall practice encompasses a broad range of reconstructive and plastic surgery services.

The physician will have a primary academic practice at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston, with additional clinical responsibilities at one of our affiliated Tufts Medicine community hospitals. This practice model provides the opportunity to participate in the complexity and resources of a tertiary academic medical center while also helping expand access to advanced plastic and reconstructive surgical care within the community.

Why Join the Division of Plastic Surgery?

The Division of Plastic Surgery provides comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care across a broad spectrum of clinical needs. Our surgeons care for patients requiring complex reconstruction and work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple specialties to restore both form and function.

Our areas of expertise include complex oncologic reconstruction, microsurgery, and breast reconstruction.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Join an established academic Division of Plastic Surgery within a leading academic medical center in Boston.
  • Perform complex reconstructive procedures, including microsurgical free-flap reconstruction.
  • Contribute to a large breast reconstructive practice, while maintaining a broad reconstructive plastic surgery practice.
  • Collaborate closely with breast and surgical oncology, orthopedics, dermatology, ENT, neurosurgery, and other specialties.
  • Participate in the continued growth and development of the division's reconstructive and microsurgical programs.
  • Teach and mentor Tufts University School of Medicine medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners.
  • Participate in clinical research, scholarly activity, and program development.
  • Leverage the resources and expertise of Tufts Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine, and the broader Tufts Medicine system.
  • Help expand access to advanced plastic and reconstructive surgery across both academic and community settings.
How You'll Transform Patient Care
  • Provide comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care with expertise in microsurgical reconstruction and free-flap surgery.
  • Perform complex reconstructive procedures across a diverse patient population.
  • Participate in the division's high-volume breast reconstruction practice.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized care for patients requiring complex reconstruction.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of reconstructive and microsurgical services across Tufts Medicine.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and other scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative clinical programs within the Division of Plastic Surgery.
Who You Are
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • Eligible for or able to obtain a Massachusetts medical license.
  • Microsurgery fellowship trained.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in reconstructive plastic surgery.
  • Experienced in microsurgical free-flap reconstruction.
  • Experience with breast reconstruction strongly preferred, particularly within a high-volume reconstructive practice.
  • Broad clinical interests that complement the existing expertise and strategic priorities of the Division of Plastic Surgery.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching, academic medicine, research, or program development.
  • A collaborative physician committed to multidisciplinary care, education, and advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

A Tufts University School of Medicine faculty appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications and experience.
