Position Details
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek an Infectious Diseases physician (ranks: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). The candidate will practice primarily in Morgantown, WV.
Duties include practicing adult Infectious Diseases (ID), with responsibilities spanning inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth services. A key component is supporting and expanding our Musculoskeletal ID consult service, including outpatient ID/Orthopedic clinics. The role involves patient care, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and engaging in scholarly activities.
The ID Division has 14 faculty with diverse expertise, including health care epidemiology, musculoskeletal infections, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, antimicrobial stewardship, transplant ID, OPAT, and COpAT. The division boasts a 100% ID Board pass rate in its active fellowship program.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), eligibility for WV medical license, completion of Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship, and board certification/eligibility in infectious diseases. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
