West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek Gastroenterologists (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). Successful candidates will practice in Morgantown, WV and/or Fairmont, WV.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will practice in gastroenterology and hepatology, providing excellent patient care, and actively participating in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, be eligible for a state medical license, have completed an accredited internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship, and be board eligible/board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Our GI and Hepatology service line offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a diverse patient population, and handles clinically challenging cases. We have a new, expanding endoscopy center with state-of-the-art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, with close access to specialty clinics.
We support academic pursuits, especially in chronic viral hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease. We serve patients from West Virginia and five border states. The Department of Medicine fosters a culture of professionalism and cooperation, with opportunities to develop and lead programs within a large academic referral center.
