Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship, or board certification in anesthesiology with at least five years of full-time pediatric anesthesiology experience.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for pediatric patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient age, condition, history, and procedure.
• Administer anesthesia including general, regional, neuraxial, and intravenous techniques.
• Coordinate perioperative planning with surgeons, proceduralists, subspecialists, nursing teams, and other care team members.
• Manage pediatric airways, monitoring, vascular access, emergencies, trauma, codes, perioperative pain, and postoperative nausea and vomiting.
• Oversee the perioperative course, including induction, maintenance, emergence, transport, handoff, and post-anesthesia management.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and maintain compliance with institutional, departmental, billing, regulatory, and patient-safety requirements.
• Participate in call coverage including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
