Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking an Academic Advisor I or II. The role focuses on helping students plan their degrees, monitor progress, and access campus resources to improve retention and success. You will work within the Provost and VP admin area.

The position requires a Master’s degree (and II may require two years of advisory experience) and strong communication with diverse student populations in an urban university setting.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required for Academic Advisor I.
• For Academic Advisor II, Master's Degree plus 2 years of advisory experience.
• Knowledge of college student development, advising theory, and campus resources.
• Ability to communicate well and build rapport with diverse populations.
• Experience using student information systems and computing software.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in achieving educational goals with personalized academic planning.
• Guide course selection, monitor progress, and connect students with campus resources.
