Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking an Academic Advisor I to support the College of Arts & Sciences and The Water School. You will guide students on academic planning, schedules, major selection, and career goals to help them graduate.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and providing individualized and group advising, developing student education plans, and assisting with degree completion. Familiarity with advising technology and campus resources is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area.
• Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience delivering student programming (such as workshops and orientation) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one and group advising to students within the College/Unit.
• Develops a student education plan for timely graduation.
• Reviews program requirements and prerequisites for degree completion.
• Assists students with understanding FGCU advising technology and campus resources.
• Provides advising support for orientation and helps students achieve academic goals.
