Job summary

Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia (MCG) invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidate will participate in general surgical pathology sign-out, provide frozen sections, and engage in subspecialty pathology sign-out and tumor boards.

Responsibilities include autopsy sign-out rotation, teaching medical students and residents, and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD, DO or equivalent with AP or AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology board certification or board eligible.
• GA state licensure.
• Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical center.
• Subspecialty interest or fellowship training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in general surgical pathology sign-out service
• Provide frozen section, evening, weekend and holiday call coverage
• Participate in subspecialty anatomic pathology sign out service (based on applicant's fellowship training/experience and/or interest)
• Provide subspecialty anatomic pathology consultations and represent pathology at subspecialty tumor boards
• Perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis
• Teach medical students/residents (didactic and unknown conference sessions) and co-scoping with residents and medical students during sign-out service
• Engage in scholarly activities and research based on assigned effort
• Perform other related duties as assigned
