Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond seeks a residency-trained optometrist with expertise in contact lens fitting and ocular disease to join our ophthalmology faculty.

The position covers two outpatient settings including our main campus and suburban satellite location, supporting a 12-resident ophthalmology training program with a full 5-year ACGME accreditation.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an Optometry Residency with advanced training in contact lens fitting and ocular disease.
• Must possess/maintain a current, full and unrestricted license to practice optometry in Virginia.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, professional academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in two outpatient settings including main campus and satellite location.
• Maintain high clinical and ethical standards and promote collaborative practice among staff.
• Support a 12-resident ophthalmology training program and contribute to education and research.
