Job summary

MCV Physicians seeks an ophthalmology faculty member to provide direct patient care at the downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations. The role includes supervision of residents and ophthalmic technicians within a busy academic ophthalmology department.

Appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor is available commensurate with experience; the department supports a 16-resident training program and a 5-year ACGME accreditation, with a competitive compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible/On Pathway toward Board Certification in Ophthalmology.
• Must possess/maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care at the downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations.
• Supervision of residents and ophthalmic medical technicians.
• Compensation is provided under a Physician Practice Group plan; appointment at Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level is available commensurate with experience.
