Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. (HMFP) invites an experienced OB/GYN educator to join Ascension St.

Vincent Indianapolis as part of a teaching residency program. You will oversee resident education and clinical mentorship across multiple disciplines, shaping residents’ clinical skills in outpatient and inpatient settings within a mission-driven academic health system.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• Indiana licensure required or eligible for licensure.
• Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead OB/GYN resident education and clinical mentorship across training levels.
• Precept and mentor learners including Family Medicine residents, APPs, and medical students.
• Provide outpatient and inpatient OB/GYN care within the residency network, including OB Hospitalist duties (0.2 FTE).
• Supervise resident practice management, staffing, and professional formation across settings.

This exceptional teaching opportunity offers an immersive academic environment within the Ascension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program. Based at the Primary Care Center, you will join a mission-driven team providing flexible, highly rewarding outpatient care to diverse and vulnerable populations. Primary responsibilities focus on precepting and shaping OB/GYN residents across all training levels, while also collaborating with and mentoring learners across multiple disciplines, including Family Medicine residents, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and medical students.

• Facility Name: Ascension St. Vincent Hospital – Primary Care Center
• Schedule: Full-Time 1.0, including 0.8 FTE Outpatient/Gyn Hospital Service + 0.2 FTE OB Hospitalist

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Drive resident education and clinical mentorship by supervising OB/GYN residents across various clinical settings, guiding their practice management skills, outpatient staffing techniques, and professional formation.
• Cultivate a rich academic environment through active teaching, clinical precepting, and rotational mentorship of medical students, Family Medicine residents, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Provide mission-driven clinical care within the Primary Care Center (PCC) outpatient setting, delivering compassionate healthcare to diverse, underserved, and vulnerable populations, including refugees and immigrants.
• Deliver comprehensive inpatient OB/GYN care by managing hospital service coverage and performing OB Hospitalist duties (0.2 FTE) within the residency network.
• Practice setting: Hybrid practice model combining ambulatory care supervision, inpatient GYN service coverage, and OB Hospitalist shifts.
• Employed position within a top-tier, non-profit academic health system network.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration in Indiana.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
