Job summary

Penn State Health Milton S Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, invites a full-time Neuropsychologist to join our Neurosurgery team. You will conduct comprehensive cognitive assessments, assist in surgical candidacy decisions, and contribute to post-operative care planning for adult and geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes collaboration with neurosurgeons, neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, and social workers, engaging in teaching and clinical research within an academic setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology.
• Completion of an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology.
• Licensed or license-eligible as a clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania.
• Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP-CN preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neuropsychological assessment and consultation for adult and geriatric patients undergoing neurosurgical evaluation and treatment.
• Collaborate with neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, rehabilitation specialists and social workers to inform surgical planning and post-operative care.
• Document findings and recommendations in electronic medical records with clarity and timeliness; contribute to quality improvement and clinical research as appropriate.
• Mentor and teach medical students, neurosurgery residents and fellows, Psychology Interns, and Neuropsychology Fellows.
