Albany Medical College in New York's Capital Region seeks a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. The role offers inpatient, outpatient, and transplant care in a collaborative, academically focused setting.

The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows, contribute to clinical and translational research, and participate in a multidisciplinary care model with APPs, nurses, and support

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• Strong commitment to medical education and mentorship.
• Interest or experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
• Eligibility for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
• Dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consult and teaching services.
• Participation in renal transplant services.
• Outpatient hemodialysis patient care.
• Hypertension referral clinic.
• Comprehensive chronic kidney disease outpatient program.
• Robust academic environment with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Opportunities to develop or participate in clinical and/or translational research.
