Job summary

Austin Community College seeks a Librarian (Hourly) to provide reference services to students, faculty and staff across campus libraries. You will assist via in-person, phone, email and library chat, and collaborate with library colleagues on collections, data collection, and information literacy initiatives.

The role requires a Master’s in Library Science (ALA-accredited) and a commitment to service in a public two-year college with diverse learners. Up to 19 hours/week, $28.70/hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and library principles in an academic setting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of constituent information.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services to ACC students, faculty and staff in person, by phone, email, and library chat.
• Collaborate with campus library staff; maintain records and statistics; assist with collection maintenance and information literacy support.
• Contribute to reporting, data collection, and project work as assigned.
