Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Summer Adventure in Learning (SAIL) Academic Learning Specialist to lead and provide academic support for camp participants. You will develop learning materials, coordinate with teachers, and ensure virtual learning compliance with YMCA and BFTS standards.

Ideal candidates hold a CDA in education, are at least 21, and have 1+ year experience with school-age children. Strong communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• CDA Certificate degree in education.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• 1+ years of experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
• Have evidence of current successful completion training in CPR/First Aid/AED or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Must pass background check, BFTS background check, and drug screening.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement academic curriculum for school-age children during SAIL program.
• Develop and design learning material, review content, and incorporate current technology in assignments.
• Create an environment with activities to support program goals and virtual learning.
• Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by school district.
• Communicate with teachers and parents on learning opportunities and needs.
• Operate and deliver the program in compliance with YMCA and BFTS regulations.
• Report concerns to the Youth Development Director.
• Maintain personal file to stay in compliance with YMCA and BFTS.
