Description
Position Summary
We seek an experienced Academic Interventionist to provide targeted support for students in grades K-8 who need additional academic assistance. This role requires strong skills in working with students, parents, and teachers to promote student success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
- Valid Texas teaching certification or intervention specialist credential
- 3-4 years of teaching or intervention experience
- Training in evidence-based intervention programs (Reading Recovery, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, or similar)
- Current background check and fingerprinting clearance
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
- Provide individual and small-group intervention in reading, math, and other core subjects
- Implement research-based intervention programs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Build positive relationships with struggling learners
Teacher Support
- Assist teachers with intervention techniques and instructional strategies
- Provide accommodation and modification strategies for diverse learners
- Model effective classroom behaviors and teaching practices
- Demonstrate intervention strategies through co-teaching and coaching
- Share resources and best practices with staff
Assessment & Documentation
- Administer screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring tools
- Collect and analyze student performance data
- Complete all required paperwork, intervention plans, and reports on time
- Maintain accurate student records
Communication & Collaboration
- Attend all parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, RTI/MTSS meetings, and student support meetings
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and district personnel
- Explain assessment results and strategies to families in clear, understandable terms
Compliance
- Implement MTSS/RTI frameworks according to school and district guidelines
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Participate in required professional development and school events

Working Conditions
