Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, NC invites applicants for a full-time General Internal Medicine faculty member to join the new Department of Internal Medicine. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience post residency training, or completion of faculty development fellowship preferred
• Licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina (or eligible) and Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine
• Regular attendance on-site; teaching and supervision of residents and students; involvement in CQI and department activities

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to ambulatory patients and hospitalized patients (if interested).
• Serve as faculty advisor and mentor for residents; supervise and teach house staff in the outpatient setting.
• Promote education programs and participate in didactics and core curriculum lectures for residents and students.
• Participate in clinical and educational research and contribute to ambulatory quality improvement initiatives.
