Job summary

University of California, San Francisco invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery – Plastic Hand Surgeon. The position is a full-time academic appointment focusing on advanced hand and wrist reconstruction and general plastics.

The successful candidate will be board-eligible or board-certified by the ABPS, complete a hand surgery fellowship by start date, and contribute to resident education across UCSF Health locations, including VAMC and ZSFG.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility by ABPS is required.
• Hand surgery fellowship completion by the time of hire is required.
• California medical licensure or eligibility is expected.

Responsibilities

• Clinical activities split between Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).
• Perform elective and traumatic hand and wrist surgery, plus general reconstructive plastic surgery.
• Participate in on-call duties at ZSFG and VAMC and other UCSF Health locations.
• Contribute to residency training and medical student education.
